— Find Your Home From 1 Month
Staying in Osaka for a month or longer calls for a different approach than booking a short trip — and you don't need to start with a standard Japanese lease.
Whether you’re studying, working, relocating with family, or on a company assignment, OKINI helps you find a home suited to your length of stay, household size, lifestyle and daily commute.

What Changes When You Stay in Osaka for a Month or More
On a short trip, proximity to attractions and transport links matter most. Stay for a month or longer, though, and what really shapes your day-to-day experience is whether the space suits everyday living — laundry, cooking, a manageable commute — and whether moving in is straightforward.
OKINI Long Stay is built around these mid- to long-term needs, so guests from overseas can settle into life in Osaka without going through the usual Japanese rental process from scratch.
Move In From 1 Month
Suited to studying, work assignments, family stays and other mid- to long-term needs — no need to sign a standard long-term residential lease for a stay of just a few months.
Fully Furnished, Ready to Live In
Each home comes with the furniture and appliances you need for daily life — from sleeping to laundry to cooking — so it’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a home that works for everyday living.
No Japanese Guarantor Required
Homes are arranged with overseas guests in mind, so you won’t need to find a Japanese joint guarantor, as you typically would with a standard rental in Japan.
Arrange Everything Before You Arrive
There’s no need to wait until you land in Japan to start looking. You can submit your requirements and confirm your accommodation while still overseas, so everything is in place before you arrive in Osaka.
Find the Right OKINI Long Stay Plan for You
OKINI Long Stay is Chief of Homes’ (COH) mid- to long-term accommodation service in Osaka, offering furnished homes for stays of one month or more. It’s organised into four plans, based on whether you’re studying, working, relocating with family, or on a company assignment.
OKINI Corporate
— Corporate Housing
When a company sends employees to Japan for work or a project, housing usually involves coordinating move-in dates, headcount, work location and different stay lengths.
OKINI Corporate handles mid- to long-term corporate accommodation needs, confirming available homes and arrangements based on your actual assignment plan.
OKINI Student
— Student Housing
Studying in Osaka for the first time is about more than finding somewhere to sleep.
Your school’s location, daily commute time, distance to the nearest station, everyday convenience, lease length and budget all shape your experience as a student. OKINI Student is built around the needs of overseas students staying mid- to long-term, helping you sort out housing in Osaka before you’ve even left home.
OKINI Family
— Family Stays
Moving to Osaka as a family for a while involves more than just headcount.
Room layout, living space, laundry, cooking and your daily commute all shape what mid- to long-term family life looks like. OKINI Family helps you find a home suited to your household size, length of stay and preferred neighbourhood.
OKINI Business
— Work & Assignment Stays
Spending a few months working in Osaka doesn’t necessarily mean living out of a hotel — or signing a standard long-term residential lease either.
OKINI Business is designed for mid- to long-term business trips, work assignments in Japan, and project-based postings, matching you to a home based on your workplace, transport links, length of stay and lifestyle needs.
Osaka for the Long Term — Which Area Suits You?
On a short trip, you can pick where to stay based on the sights. Stay a month or longer, though, and choosing an area means thinking about where you’ll actually be going each day, your commute, everyday convenience, and the kind of lifestyle you’re used to.
No single area works for everyone. Starting from your daily routine is a more useful approach than simply picking a popular neighbourhood.
Umeda / Osaka Station
Best for: those working or spending most of their time in northern Osaka, frequent JR users, or anyone travelling regularly to Kyoto or Kobe.
Osaka Station and Umeda bring together JR, Osaka Metro and several private rail lines, making it easy to move between areas. The transport advantage is especially useful if you commute often or regularly leave the city centre.
If most of your time will be spent south of Namba, there’s little need to base yourself in Umeda just for the sake of it.
Honmachi / Central Osaka
Best for: those working in central Osaka who want easy access to both Umeda and Namba, without necessarily living in a major commercial district.
Honmachi sits between Osaka’s main north-south transport corridor, with fairly direct access to Umeda, Shinsaibashi and Namba. It’s a well-balanced base for business travellers, mid- to long-term workers, and anyone regularly moving between different parts of the city centre.
Namba / Southern Osaka
Best for: those who value dining, shopping and everyday convenience, with most of their time spent around Namba, Shinsaibashi or southern Osaka.
Namba has a dense concentration of everyday amenities and strong transport links, making daily errands and eating out easy. It tends to suit first-time long-term residents who prefer to keep their day-to-day life within walking distance or a short ride.
That said, if you’ll be commuting north of Umeda daily for work or study, it’s worth factoring in the actual travel time when choosing a home.
Tennoji & Surrounding Areas
Best for: those who want both city living and easy access to southern Osaka, or who move regularly between Tennoji, Abeno and southern Osaka.
Tennoji itself offers solid transport, shopping and everyday amenities, while connecting the city centre to southern Osaka. For long-term residents, it’s worth considering not just the transport links but also how well the surrounding area supports daily shopping, meals and everyday life.
Still Not Sure Which Area?
You don’t need to decide between Umeda and Namba upfront.
Tell us where you’ll be working or studying, your expected length of stay, household size and the areas you’ll regularly visit — we’ll use your actual routine and current availability to help narrow things down.

FAQ About Monthly Stays in Osaka
Answers to the questions we’re asked most often by guests arranging a monthly stay in Osaka from overseas.
What's the shortest stay OKINI Long Stay offers?
OKINI Long Stay is designed mainly for stays of one month or more — suited to studying, work assignments, family stays and other mid- to long-term needs in Osaka. Actual availability and lease length depend on the specific listing.
Can I look for a home before I've arrived in Japan?
Yes. You can browse listings and submit your requirements — including move-in date, length of stay, household size and preferred area — while still overseas. Our team will help confirm a home based on current availability.
Do I need a Japanese guarantor to stay with OKINI Long Stay?
No — you won’t need to find a Japanese joint guarantor, as you typically would with a standard rental in Japan. OKINI Long Stay’s process is built around overseas guests and mid- to long-term stays, so students and business travellers without a guarantor in Japan can still arrange a home.
What identification documents do I need to book a monthly or long-term stay?
Students are generally asked for a certificate of enrolment or admission, along with a copy of their passport and visa. Business travellers should provide a certificate of employment or a company assignment letter. Document verification is handled entirely online, so no in-person interview is required.
Are utilities and internet included in the monthly rate?
Yes. OKINI Long Stay’s monthly rate includes electricity, water, gas and internet, so there’s no need to set these up separately with local providers. This makes it easier to manage your main living costs in one place.
How do I check in and get my keys after arriving in Japan?
We’ll send you check-in instructions, including how to use your smart lock or key box, three days before arrival. If you need help during your stay, our multilingual support team is available 24 hours a day. You can complete check-in yourself following the instructions, even if you arrive late.
Is OKINI Family suitable for families with young children?
Yes. OKINI Family helps match households to a suitable layout based on family size, length of stay and everyday needs. Let us know the number of adults and children, your expected move-in date and preferred area, and we can help confirm a suitable home more quickly.
Can a company arrange housing for multiple employees through OKINI Corporate?
Yes. OKINI Corporate is designed for company assignments, project teams and other mid- to long-term corporate stays. Share your expected headcount, length of stay and work location, and our team will match you to suitable homes based on current availability.
